The Fuel Cells business is looking to enhance the team with the opening of a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer role. This is an exciting opportunity to manage the Mechanical Design function and Process Development initiatives for the productionisation of component and product conversion to drive yield improvements, capacity increase, cost reduction and new product and process introduction across manufacturing operations in a way that supports the JMFC culture of secure, safe and ethical working. Key responsibilities Support the delivery of the site EHS Improvement Plan and sustainability goals Management and development of Mechanical Design and Process Engineers and their welfare Support the specification, procurement, commissioning and qualification of new process equipment Contribute to the compilation of capital expenditure requests Investigate and recommend next generation process methods and equipment design Monitor the planning and results of trials to validate alternative product designs, process routes and raw materials, guiding lessons learned and next steps Lead continuous improvement of existing processes to improve yield, capacity and costs Promote the use of process data analysis to identify and implement SPC or alternative process control techniques Encourage root cause analysis investigations of process upsets and implementation of action plans Collaborate with & support Operations to maintain production throughput and KPIs Liaise with Maintenance to enable permanent resolution of equipment and/or process design flaws Proactively engage in the completion of Hazard Studies, Risk Assessments and Safety Observations Support the Process Technology Manager in the delivery of departmental objectives Contribute to documentation completion and approval including Mechanical Drawings, Tooling Drawings, Production Control Plans, Bills of Materials, Product Specifications and Standard Operating Procedures Are you the ideal candidate?
