We're currently seeking an expert Senior SOA/API Engineer to join our Core Platforms Engineering team working within our Group Transformation function. This team engages in activities to help enable transformation in both our Value Streams and Enterprise Programmes. We're responsible for: - Engineering Transformation - Delivery of Engineering enablers and capabilities that will be applied across Transformation - Management of core platforms that reside centrally - Supporting the development of our Engineering culture and mind-set culture across Transformation and the Group You'll use your extensive SOA/API knowledge and skills, as a technical expert who drives integrity and maintenance of the applications which they are responsible for within a team. You'll be providing to technical expertise to ensure compliance and quality standards are adhered to, and assist in owning the technological direction of the team. Along side your SOA/API skills we are looking for experience with Data power/WebSphere/Json/Rest technologies Your responsibilities will include: - Acting as a design authority within own technical expertise area, with reviews and involvement in the sign off of technical deliverables. - The quality checking and standard of work within your area of responsibility, advising and leading engineering teams to produce technically compliant deliverables. - Providing specialist knowledge to input into the strategic direction of applications, technologies, tools or business processes ensuring the integrity of technical applications and other related technology is maintained at all times. - Identifying, clarifying and assessing complex business problems and inputs into provision of scenario solutions. We'll want you to work independently, and provide mentoring, direction and development for less experienced Engineers, really supporting and coaching them to become authorities in their specialism. Compliance to all standards is key, including the Banks IT architecture governance, regulatory and statutory requirements, as well as ensuing all design standards are maintained, with alignment to software development lifecycles. Throughout all of your activity, your innovation will help identify continuous improvement opportunities for technology solutions, incorporating lessons learned into future planning activities. We'll need you to take personal responsibility for relationships with key partners, both internal and third party suppliers. You'll need to work collaboratively to make decisions on change projects and deliver results, working with our partners in a highly effective way.
