Job Description THE ROLE I am now seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor at PRE APC level with at least c. 2 years or more quantity surveying / cost management experience, ideally gained with another firm of PQS or possibly with a main contractor or developer. This is a great opportunity to join a growing firm in the North East of England and to get involved on a good mix of projects including industrial manufacturing projects, residential and commercial buildings. Support will be given to become RICS qualified. THE CLIENT Our client is a successful and growing firm of consultants offering clients quantity surveying and project management services. They are working on a good range of projects for industrial / manufacturing / process buildings plus offices, student accommodation etc. THE CANDIDATE You will be a PRE APC Quantity Surveyor with around 2 years or more Quantity Surveying experience and you will ideally be working currently towards taking your APC to become chartered with the RICS. You will work as part of a their successful North East England office on projects mainly locally but some in the South East too. You will need to have a good Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying which is RICS accredited or similar and have around 2 years QS experience which could have been gained during doing your degree or post graduation. You will be involved in both Pre and Post Contract duties on a number of projects including cost planning, tendering, site valuations, cost reporting, cost management and agreement of final accounts. You will be involved in the full project process from initial client engagement through to project delivery. You will work as the project surveyor on lower value projects whilst being supervised or closely with an Associate or Senior Surveyor on more complex projects. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills as you will deal directly with clients. Salary will be in the region of £25000 to £35000 plus pension contribution, RICS support and fees, discretionary bonus and excellent prospects.
