The packaging division is a leading global supplier to a range of international pharmaceutical and healthcare companies. Reporting into the European Operations Director, you will lead the UK manufacturing operations for our packaging division across 4 key production sites. You will take full responsibility for the operation and ultimately its commercial success including overall financial and budget control. You will also provide clear, decisive leadership to a diverse team of site managers and will be tasked with implementing sustainable improvement to existing processes. You will be working closely with the UK leads for the supporting functions to achieve this., * Accountable for overall performance of UK manufacturing facilities, including P&L performance, delivery of annual 'Plan/Budget', OTIF, quality, and HSE. * Supporting, coaching and developing the site managers in all aspects of their roles to engender a dynamic working environment. * Develop a strategic and sustainable plan for UK Operations. * Create a culture of continuous improvement within manufacturing. Coordinate all continuous improvement activities and employee development/training. * Analysing capacity within production and implement actions to maximize productive capacity within the UK. Directing the application productivity improvement programmes, embrace and drive a lean/CI culture. * Focus on waste reduction & the eradication of non-value added activities. Develop and act upon plans to facilitate process improvement, achieve and exceed run rates. Monitor & improve cost-productivity measures (output per FTE etc.) & drive year-on-year cost reductions through improved efficiencies & performance. * Work with commercial teams to ensure optimisation of gross margin on existing and tendered business. * Ensure manufacturing is underpinned by appropriate headcount, equipment and systems that offer the most effective solution and are scalable for future business growth. * Strong strategic, planning, organisation and leadership skills, with experience of leading change initiatives to achieve business goals * Previous experience of success within a manufacturing leadership position * Experience of managing a P&L * Self-starter - highly motivated, seeking to continually improve and not afraid to challenge the 'norm' * Strong leadership skills. Requires experience of leading management teams.
