Job Description THE ROLE I am now seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor at PRE APC level with at least 12 months or more quantity surveying / cost management experience, ideally gained with another firm of PQS or possibly with a main contractor or developer. THE CLIENT Our client is a successful and growing firm of consultants offering clients quantity surveying and project management services. They are working on a good range of projects mainly for private sector clients including large residential, student accommodation, retail, hotels, and other commercial projects ranging in value from around £1m to £75m for new build and refurbishment. My client has a 100% success rate in getting quantity surveyors through the APC on the first try and full support will be given to candidates who already have QS experience. They now have two UK offices. THE CANDIDATE I am now seeking a PRE APC Quantity Surveyor with 12 months or more Quantity Surveying experience post graduation and you will ideally be working currently towards taking your APC to become chartered with the RICS. You will work as part of a their successful London office on projects across the U.K. You will need to have a good Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying which is RICS accredited or similar and have around 12 months to 3 years experience working for another firm of private practice QS's or maybe for a main contractor or developer. You will be involved in both Pre and Post Contract duties on a number of projects including cost planning, tendering, site valuations, cost reporting, cost management and agreement of final accounts. You will be involved in the full project process from initial client engagement through to project delivery. You will work as the project surveyor on lower value projects whilst being supervised or as part of a small team on higher value projects. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills as you will deal directly with clients. Salary will be in the region of £32000 to £40000 plus pension contribution, critical illness cover and support for APC.
