L'Arche London are looking for an approachable, practical and organised person to manage the facilities and houses for our community of nearly 100 people, with and without learning disabilities, who live, work and celebrate together. We provide registered care, supported housing and specialist day services. We have 11 houses which are home to our Support Assistants and around 35 community members with learning disabilities, all within walking distance of our office and craft workshop in Norwood High Street. This role has lots of variety - on an average day you might be carrying out a fire alarm test at one of our houses, organising for decorators to have access staff accommodation and getting quotes from builders. You will be dealing with all kinds of people - from contractors to volunteers who cut the grass, from Support Assistants reporting repairs to the people with learning disabilities who live in our community. As our Housing and Facilities Coordinator, you will ensure that our premises are maintained to the highest standard, in line with relevant legislation and good practice. You will have excellent administration skills to manage tenancies and service charges, liaise with landlords, arrange contractors to repair and maintain our properties, and oversee the budget for repairs and maintenance. Working with the senior management team, you will also assess the future facility needs of the community and will be responsible for project-managing the agreed building and refurbishment projects. L'Arche is a vibrant, joyful place to be. We're part of an international federation of L'Arche communities in over 100 countries worldwide. Founded in the Christian tradition, L'Arche Communities welcome people of all faiths and none: our vision is a world where all belong. Whilst knowledge and experience of managing facilities or housing is desirable, far more essential is an enthusiasm for our values, the ability to inspire others and a willingness to be part of our friendly, professional and committed team. Applicants are asked to send a CV and a letter of no more two sides of A4, explaining how your skills, experience and knowledge meet the requirements of the job description. The closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 23 July 2018 and interviews will be held on Wednesday 1 August 2018.
