An established, privately owned, award winning contractor with a full order book, are keen to engage a self-starting Health and Safety Advisor for projects across two of their growing divisions. Based in Essex, this role will involve national travel and exposure to a diverse range of Construction and CDM projects.
If you are looking to join a company with a true family ethos, who actively invest in their employees you need to have Health & Safety Advisor experience across small construction or CDM projects . M&E or Property Estates experience may be considered too.
With a direct reporting line to the Divisional Head of Health and Safety your key responsibilities will be to carry out safety audits & inspections, review health and safety issues and address/implement changes as required.
Experience of accident and incident investigation reporting will be required. Ability to promote and instil a positive safety culture is essential and if you can demonstrate experience/implementation with a behavioural change programme this would be advantageous too.
A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Health and Safety Advisor within the Construction industry is ideal and you will need to be able to demonstrate experience of your knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation.
Nebosh Construction or NCRQ Equivalent are essential, with a solid CV and a proven track record of working on multi-site construction and CDM projects. You must also demonstrate a commitment to your CPD and be either working towards or very close to completing your Nebosh Diploma. TechIOSH as a minimum but it is your Health & Safety experience on construction projects that is important to our client.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communications skills with the ability to influence at all levels (Staff & subcontractors) of the business. Working as part of the H&S team, this autonomous role will need you be a self-starter, who remains focused on multiple tasks.
