DESIGN DRAUGHTSPERSON
MEADOWHALL, SHEFFIELD
£20-£25K P/A DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE + BONUS, PRIVATE HEALTHCARE AND

THE COMPANY:
My client is a leading designer and manufacturer of building products and
offer a range which is constantly evolving to keep pace with the
ever-changing demands of the industry.
An exciting opportunity has arisen at their site in Sheffield, for an
experienced Design Draughtsperson, to effectively design, schedule and
detail building products to meet the customer's order, plus provide full
customer support
THE ROLE:
• Efficiently project manage and deal with the day to day running of
allocated technical contracts with full customer support.
• Schedule, draughting and detailing of relevant construction products to
contract orders in accordance with the customer's order.
• Communicate effectively with the design team, i.e. Architects,
Engineers and Site Construction personnel.
• Produce all relevant drawings and paperwork (faxes/emails, etc.)
relevant to the smooth running of each Contract including Production
Drawings.
• Issuing designs and drawings for approval.
• Perform all necessary design calculations are carried out.
• Ensuring all necessary drawings are produced and our designs are
illustrated to a good standard
• Preparing clear and accurate manufacturing drawings and schedules for
order processing
• Maintaining the project files and quality documentation to a high
standard.
• Co-ordinating approvals and customers' instructions to manufacture.
• Resolving manufacturing and delivery issues with production, providing
information to customer as necessary.
• Provide technical advice where necessary
• Attend site visits when and as instructed.
• Attend training and develop relevant knowledge/skills.
THE CANDIDATE:
• HNC/BTEC/NVQ3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline
• Experience in design/detailing, ideally in an engineering role
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Able to work on own initiative and resolve problems
• Gather, correlate, analyse and present information
• Basic knowledge of engineering and manufacturing
• Design/drafting skills
• Understand and use Excel spreadsheets
• Microsoft Office skills
• Able to communicate effectively with the design team, i.e. external
Architects, Engineers and Site Construction personnel.
• Experience in construction design and with a good understanding of the
construction process and building products/methods is an advantage
