Development & QC Chemist with key responsibility for Quality Management required to be based at our client's site in the East Midlands.

As an integral member of their Management Team, the role will primarily be laboratory based and will include:
• Responsible for leading product development of speciality cleaning and laundry products in a range of applications including Commercial catering, laundry, and industrial cleaning chemicals • Working with business teams to deliver new products to market • Compiling product specifications • Assessing alternative sources of new raw materials • Carrying out practical laboratory work, complying with all Health & Safety requirements of H&S and COSHH regulations • Producing up-to-date safety data sheets compliant with current legislation (CLP) using Lycos software • Management of Quality Systems (ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2003) including internal audits and liaising with external auditors, Quality Manuals and MDD 93/42/EEC conformance • Quality control, evaluation and testing of final products and raw materials • Working with production staff to improve manufacturing procedures and techniques • Working with the Sales Team to deliver new products to market • Upgrading the existing product portfolio by developing new innovative products • Providing customers/end users with technical support • Investigating complaints and liaising with customers and the sales team
Qualifications & Experience: • BSc, HND, HNC or equivalent in Chemistry • Experience as a Development Chemist • Strong Quality Management experience • Key manufacturing experience • Detailed understanding of commercial cleaning chemistry • Strong understanding of Surfactant Technology • Line management experience
Experience in working in a manufacturing based laboratory with the ability to liaise with a production team both from a quality control perspective and a product development transfer into online process.
An understanding of Reach/BPD and the regulations surrounding the transportation of dangerous goods would be an advantage
