Established nearly a century ago, this regional building contractor undertakes new build and refurbishment projects throughout the Midlands and southern England via a network of strategically located offices.

The fusion of traditional values with modern practices has enabled them to develop lucrative relationships with many framework clients across the Local Authority, MoD, Education, Health, Custodial, Housing and Private sectors and this in turn has resulted in company growth to £125 million P/A in recent years.

The southern regional office is based between Swindon and Reading and contributes around £40 million to the business and this is derived from undertaking traditional and D&B schemes of between £50k and £10m. Many contracts are won by negotiation and they constantly carry a full order book of profitable opportunities.

A friendly, open door ethos characterises the business and they achieve results by pulling together as a team so this is a quality they also look for when recruiting new members of staff.
The local office (South Coast) is certainly a hot prospect as it has already sailed past it's £20m regional turnover target and likely to be on track for being the fastest growing construction business in the area.

POSITION: Bid Manager
Reporting to the Main Board Director your role as Bid Manager will include…

Liaise with external parties to acquire tender enquiries and contract awards attending meetings and presentations as necessary

Coordinating the following activities within the PreContract Department to ensure efficient processing of tender opportunities, tender preparation and tender submissions
Design Management
Attend and initiate regular department meetings to review workload and resource
Liaise with other Departments to obtain information and the attendance of personnel to prepare prequalification and tender submissions and related interviews/meetings
Review the content and quality of documentation used in prequalifications, tender submissions and interviews
Review the tender activity with other Managers to ensure that risk is mitigated and residual risk is identified and presented to the tender adjudication meeting
Ensure smooth handover of projects form precontracts to contracts departments
Identify and select with other managers preferred consultants for appointment on Design and Build projects. Maintain records of appointments and obtain feedback on performance
Coordination with Land Advisor to ensure development opportunities are maximised
