Job Description

My client is a highly-regarded construction company who operate in both the commercial and residential sector and they are looking to recruit a Contracts Manager to join their team. Reporting to the MD, you will be responsible for overall control on projects, budgets and staffing.

Main Role & Responsibilities

Takes responsibility for the successful completion of assigned projects, advising on all aspects of construction works, including conducting the works, methods of construction, build and design and identification of potential issues.
To manage the construction team on assigned projects, including recruitment, performance management, training and development
To manage the allocation of trades and labour, employed and sub-contractors - ensuring efficient and cost-effective use of resources on assigned projects
To ensure adherence to the Health Safety and Environmental policies and ensure safe systems of work are planned and implemented on assigned projects
To attend sub-contractor and client meetings as required, ensuring a positive working relationship is established and maintained, acting as an ambassador for the company at all times.
Running multiple projects simultaneously
Liaising and constantly communication with site and other key staff
Maintain relations with main contractors and attend regular meetings on site
Keep the labour contract plan up to date
Prepare highlighted job sheets to tradesmen and sub-contractors
Negotiate and order materials to tie in with programmed requirements

Solid technical and contractual knowledge
Effective communicator at all levels, both verbal and in writing - with the ability to develop positive relationships and present well
Ability to plan, programme, monitor progress and achieve targets
Positive attitude to health and safety and willingness to strive for improvement throughout the business
Demonstrate commercial awareness
Excellent presentation and communication skills both verbal and written
Computer literate - must be able to use Microsoft office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
Must have a full driving licence
Current CSCS card
Manage complaints
Day to day relationships with clients
Promote and comply with policies on equal opportunities, the environment and health and safety, both in the delivery of services and the treatment of others.
