Our client a Manufacturing company in the South West is currently recruiting for a Process Engineer - Programming Bias
The Process engineer will be an active member of the Process Engineering Team supporting the Corporate WIN Strategy by assisting in the determination, developing and monitoring of various process engineering activities consistent with team objectives of continuous improvement, NPI assistance and defect reduction.
* Ensure that any health and safety guidelines are followed in accordance with the EHS organisational arrangements roles and responsibilities, including maintaining (and improving were possible) 5S standards and ensuring the correct PPE is worn. * Continuously improve manufacturing process capability delivery including cycle time reduction, set up time reduction, tooling cost per piece reduction and defect elimination. * Management of machining process for the machine shops including CNC programmes. * Continuously improve the manufacturing process capability control infrastructure including generation or assistance in generation of PFMEAS, routings, work instructions, Standard Work Instructions and control plans. * Provide expertise to NPI projects from evaluation to production sign-off following DFM principles.
* Machining & component process experience preferably in Hydraulic production environment or similar product. * Programming experience and knowledge for Sliding Head lathes - preferably Citizens type machines. * Programming experience and knowledge for 4 axis milling machines. * Experience in Manufacturing Engineering including routing creation & modification would be a distinct advantage but training in this aspect will be given. * Minimum 'Indentured' Skilled with full City & Guilds. * ONC / HNC qualification desirable. * Ability to rapidly & effectively resolve manufacturing issue. * Good communication and team working skills. * Basic understanding of Design Engineering requirements. * Working under own initiative within the team to produce documentation that records the process of manufacture clearly. * Understanding of timescales to be met by the area and achieving through management of your own workload. * Working within team environment, extracting best practices from various sources to ensure risks are eliminated. * Resolving manufacturing issue in a cost effective and timely manner, ensuring root causes are established, resolved and controls put in place. * Pulling together & documenting lessons learnt, and ensuring these are recorded for future use. * Technical understanding of the product function to ensure key product features and processes are established.
