This leading global Industrial & Automotive engineering and manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Engineering Manager to be technical lead for the on time delivery of a number of brand new programmes for the Truck / Bus / Off-Highway market

Commutable from: Birmingham, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Alcester, Stratford On Avon, Kidderminster, Coventry

Salary: £ 58,000 - £ 63,000 p.a + Bonus + Car + Flexible Hours + Pension + Benefits

The Role

Working as a key member of the engineering management team, leading a small dedicated, Engineering Team, you will be responsible for developing technical solutions for the installation and application of mechanical-electrical products onto commercial vehicles. Reporting directly to the Group Engineering Director, you will be involved in the following key tasks;

Lead the development and design of Air Supply Module solutions to the Road and Rail Industry
Develop design strategy based on Market and Business demand
Develop resource and timing plans based on the design implementation strategy.
Lead the deployment of robust Design and Design verification processes to deliver projects to the cost, quality and timing objectives
Bring personal Technical knowhow and experience to the design delivery, verification and risk management processes
Motivate the Team to operate at maximum efficiency and effectiveness
Ensure appropriate processes are employed in demonstrating robust Engineering Sign Off and conformance to requirements of customer; territory and general industry, quality standards
Prepare budgets and forecasts required in delivering objectives
Keep the Senior Manager (and Exec Management Team) appraised of Project delivery performance / status

The Person

With a minimum of a HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar and a background in mechanical design and development you will have a strong mix of the following skills and experience;

A minimum of six years' experience in vehicle component / system / whole vehicle package design / project engineering environment
Low to medium volume design for production experience
Technical programme or Project leadership
Motivator and mentor with the ability to set and maintain a high delivery tempo
Appreciation of the (Commercial) vehicle industry, the automotive operational environment and duty expectations
Understand the requirements for system interface and package for ICE, Hybrid and Electric vehicle architectures
Strong appreciation and experience of attributes such as Durability, Thermal and Acoustic performance
Conversant with Microsoft tools - Word; Excel; PPT; MSP
Experience of the off-highway, truck and bus / coach or commercial vehicle sector would be highly advantageous
