Form Measuring instruments Field Service Engineer


Hours 8:30am to 5pm. Flexibility essential.
Some stop overs may be required.

Salary Competitive, Negotiable and depending on experience.
Overtime Available but not guaranteed.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and talented individual, to join a world leading manufacturer of precision measuring equipment.

Due to continued growth and long term plans for the future, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Form Measuring instruments Field Service Engineer.


After completing a training programme for the companies range of Form Measuring Equipment, and reporting to the 'Service Logistics Manager' you will be involved & responsible for the following activities with regards to equipment at Customer premises.

** Installation
** Calibration
** After sales service support

Predominantly working independently representing the company at customer premises, this role supports the countrywide FMI Field Service team managed from HQ Service Centre covering Form Measuring Instrument machine installations, service, repair and calibrations.

A multi‐tasking role requiring a good Mechanical or multi‐disciplined engineering background, pride of workmanship and strict compliance to working methodology and standards. Good self‐discipline and organisational skills together with the ability to represent the company in a smart, well communicated (written & verbal) manner whilst maintaining neat and current service records are essential prerequisites.

The ideal candidate must have an appreciation Dimensional Metrology.

A probationary period of training and work shadowing would be undertaken before assessment and being sanctioned to work solo.


** A good grounding in Mechanical or Multi‐Disciplined Engineering skills
** An appreciation of Dimensional Metrology.
** Good computer skills including Microsoft Office
** Strict upkeep of procedures
** Maintenance of Records
** Disciplined diagnostic and remedial working
** Hold a valid & clean UK driving licence
** Have the ability to work alone whilst also representing the company at customer premises
** Of a professional smart and tidy appearance, no casual wear, piercings or visible tattoos.
** Be prepared to work flexible hours when required.
** Be prepared to assist colleagues in other regions of the country when required.


** Engineering Apprenticeship &/or educated to HNC or equivalent in a Technical/Engineering subject
** Maths GCSE - Grade A to C or equivalent
** English GCSE - Grade A to C or equivalent
