Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Door Engineer for our site in Liverpool, L24 9GR

Hours: 8am-5pm


To carry out on a day to day basis the effective and efficient maintenance and repairs of automatic door systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility including roller shutters, sliding gates, security barriers, pedestrian turnstiles and support the onsite fire & security team in the routine maintenance of fire safety systems. To effectively carry out daily PPM work schedules and reactive tasks planned from start to finish. Coordinate and control all documents and reports associated with these works.

Principal Accountabilities:

• To carry out planned preventive maintenance and repairs on automatic door systems and associated control equipment within a clean room environment.
• To ensure critical spares available and adequate stock levels are maintained.
• To positively challenge current working practices associated with door maintenance where appropriate to do so. And drive through operational efficiencies.
• Liaise and coordinate with the operations manager and the help desk with regards to the monthly PPM workload for the maintenance automatic door systems, producing a monthly planning schedule.
• To liaise with the helpdesk to ensure that SLA failures are abated and that shortfalls in resources are identified early on.
• Ensure that Agility work orders are continuously updated, to ensure accuracy of real time maintenance information.
• Provide door maintenance on-the-job training to other FM staff working towards a multi-skilled team approach.
• To ensure that subcontractors visits are suitably planned and executed.
• Ensure that all subcontractors are working under correctly issued permits, and that permit checks are carried out.
• Liaise with the individual Seqirus production managers by site to confirm time and date tasks can be under taken.
• Plan any out of hours' works to be carried out and obtain any overtime authority.
• Ensure any materials and supplies required for the effective maintenance of the door systems on site are ordered and either on site or deliverable on time as required.
• Review auto door asset register and maintenance records in determining life cycle of equipment.
• Deliver continuous improvement by employing best practice and innovative solutions.
• Support the onsite Fire & Security team

Qualifications and Experience:

• MUST be BS7036 qualified.
• Electro-mechanical background.
• Experience working with automatic swing doors, roller shutters, section doors, security barriers, turnstiles & fire doors.
• Experience working as an auto door engineer in a field capacity.
• At least 5 years' experience within a similar role.
• Diploma certificate or equivalent technical qualifications.
• Must have an understanding of building services and working knowledge of M&E plant within a facilities environment
• Knowledge of permit to work system.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
• Must be aware of the effect of non-compliance on production.
• Calm professional manner, but able to take firm and timely decisions.
• Proven organisational skills.

Other factors:
• Valid full driving licence.
• Smart and presentable.
• Must be a highly motivated self-starter.
• Previous experience of Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and Medical and Healthcare Product Regulatory Agency (MHRA) audits would be an advantage.
• Previous experience of Fire & Security maintenance would be an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills and effective customer service approach.
• Good written and oral command of English language.
• Ability to sustain effective relationships.
• Reliability.
• Ability to plan and organise
