World Class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire is currently looking to recruit a C++ Software Engineer subcontractor on an initial 6 month contract. Hourly Rate: Completely Negotiable (in line with market rates) Contract Duration: 6 Months Security Information: Please Note you must be eligible for SC Security Clearance (unfortunately due to security restrictions for this role, the candidate will need to be a British National with no dual nationality and must have resided in the UK for at least 4 of the past 5 years). C++ Software Engineer Job Description: C/C++, Development Software Engineer capable of design, Development and test of systems for Defence applications. Knowledge of Defence Standards and Micro-Controller Technologies would therefore be useful. The Development languages will be mainly C or C++. The software will require properties associated with dependability (reliability, security) and in particular, safety. The specification of the design of the (real time) embedded code uses UML and familiarity with this approach would be desirable. Knowledge of Rhapsody, LDRA would be useful. Knowledge of DOORS and the Rational Team Concert configuration management system would be useful. Accountabilities: Depending on the skills and experience of the engineer, they would be expected to partake in potentially all the development lifecycle from Architectural specification of the software product and equipment through to the testing and verification of that equipment Skills and Knowledge: Strong C++ experience is required. UML / Rhapsody experience also is sought after. A Software Engineer capable of design, development and proving of efficient hard real-time software. The role will involve development and integration with the target hardware and software. Suitable skills in the following areas are required as will be the ability to communicate with other engineers from different skill areas. To ensure daily stores objectives are achieved with regards to quality, correct delivery, timescale, health, safety & environmental issues Company Overview This permanent opportunity for an Stores Person is a great chance to work for a company that is: - Been running for the past 30yrs - Has a well-established order book and well know customers. Job Description Working at all times to the safe working procedures required by the company and legislation. Ensuring the daily stores schedule is completed on time and to the required quality level. Seeking, in progress towards "total Quality" , opportunities to continuously improve the storage and delivery of the product. Maintain accurate records and control of stock movement. Ensuring the optimum running of the stores system with regards to maximisation of output without compromising quality or safety. Oversee the execution of all Stores activities, providing direction, motivation and support. Supervise the Stores department to ensure operatives meet their obligations in respect of the daily picking schedule. Monitor activities and prioritise to the plan. Liaise with the Sales and Production departments to ensure correct prioritisation of work and attend morning production/planning meetings. Prepare the daily delivery/picking schedule Train and validate stores operatives to dossier. Apply all aspects of the "quality system" associated to the post.
